Pioneers in Amazon marketplace success, combining algorithmic innovation with marketplace expertise

Our Philosophy

"Sellers didn't need more data. They needed better decisions."

DataBrill combines algorithmic innovation with marketplace expertise to help Amazon sellers take control of their data and make better business decisions. We believe data ownership is fundamental to building a sustainable, scalable Amazon business.

Co-Founders

Dr. Ellis Whitehead

Co-Founder

Ellis brings deep academic credentials in automation and data science. He architected foundational algorithms for Jungle Scout, including the first accurate sales estimation model for Amazon.

His expertise spans AI, statistical analysis, and algorithm optimization, with particular focus on scalable PPC automation systems. Ellis's technical background drives DataBrill's data infrastructure and automation capabilities.

Danny McMillan

Co-Founder

Danny is host of the "Seller Sessions" podcast (1,000+ episodes) and producer of "Seller Sessions Live" conference (7 consecutive sell-outs). He pioneered ranking campaigns methodology in 2015 and earned BDSS Dream 100 status.

His contributions include published research on Amazon's A9 algorithm. Danny's proven marketplace strategies and extensive community connections shape DataBrill's approach to solving real seller problems.

How It Started

Ellis and Danny met at a 2017 Amazon seller event in Germany. The combination of Ellis's technical algorithmic background and Danny's proven marketplace strategies created a unique partnership.

Together, they recognized that Amazon sellers were drowning in data but starving for actionable insights. DataBrill was born from the vision to give sellers ownership and control of their data, enabling better decisions and sustainable growth.
